Senate Bill 814, introduced by Senator Daley, would expand the use of low emission, renewable fuels in Michigan by creating tax incentives for the sale of gasoline fuels blended with higher percentages of ethanol.
“As we work toward a zero-emission transportation future, we cannot leave clean fuel solutions on the table. Clean Fuels Michigan supports the transition to alternative fuels, including higher blends of ethanol that displace gasoline use. Alternative fuels offer benefits like cleaner air and water for Michiganders in addition to supporting domestic fuel supply chains.”
SB 814 would create a five cent per gallon tax credit for the sale of E-15 fuel and an eight and a half cent per gallon tax credit for the sale of E-85 fuel. If passed, the tax credits would be available to fuel retailers from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2027.
