National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program

Funding for Michigan: $110 million

Description: Strategically deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability. Sets aside 10 percent of funding for discretionary grants to State and local governments that require additional assistance to strategically deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure 

Recipients: States (including District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) 

Eligible Projects: The acquisition and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure to serve as a catalyst for the deployment of such infrastructure and to connect it to a network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability; proper operation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure; data sharing about electric vehicle charging infrastructure to ensure the long-term success of investments. 

Timing: Guidance was released on February 10, 2022. The notice of proposed rulemaking and request for comments was released on June 9, 2022.  Additional details are forthcoming.
