Build Back Better Act would further boost clean transportation in Michigan

DETROIT, Mich. – Clean Fuels Michigan released the following statement today ahead of President Joe Biden’s visit to Michigan. Biden will visit General Motors’ electric vehicle assembly plant Factory ZERO to hail the new $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill and its impact on electric vehicle manufacturing.
“Clean Fuels Michigan applauds the signing of the bipartisan infrastructure deal, but we know more can be done to invest in clean transportation solutions in Michigan,” said Jane McCurry, Executive Director of Clean Fuels Michigan. “That’s why we support the Build Back Better Act, which will expand electric vehicle tax credits and make new and used electric vehicles more affordable for all. This legislation includes swift and effective investments in clean transportation that will create lasting public health benefits and thousands of jobs for hardworking Michiganders. Now that the infrastructure bill has Biden’s pen, we encourage Michigan’s congressional delegation to focus on passing the Build Back Better Act without delay.”
