Description: $125,000,000 in grants to assist with the replacement of Michigan’s oldest diesel school buses with new electric, propane, and compressed natural gas school buses
Eligible Projects: For each diesel school bus to be eligible for replacement, the following requirements must be met and verified with the specified information/documentation:
- Replacement buses must have served a school district within Michigan and have been owned and operated by the entity for at least 24 months immediately before the date of application.
- If the diesel bus is model year 2010 or older, it is required to be scrapped to ensure it is no longer operational.
- If the diesel bus is model year 2011 or newer, it may be scrapped, sold, auctioned, or donated.
