Michigan is the birthplace of the modern automobile industry. The transition to smart vehicles and clean transportation will be the biggest revolution since the invention of the internal combustible engine. New technological, supply-chain, and manufacturing innovations provide a rare opportunity for Michigan to regain it’s foothold as the global hub of the automobile, bringing new talent and economic opportunities back to the state. Thankfully, members of Congress representing Michigan stood up for our communities and helped pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
There is still more work to be done to build out the clean transportation economy, create good paying jobs, lower transportation costs, and clean our air and water. Lawmakers and leaders of the auto industry need to work together to help smooth the transition towards clean-fuel vehicles, EVs, and higher fuel efficiency standards. Measures like EV tax credits for manufacturers and consumers, and investments in alternative fuels to power our transportation system will provide a substantial boost to the Michigan economy. At a time when higher gas prices have put a strain on American families, a transition to EV’s and cleaner vehicles is necessary to protect our transportation system, manufacturers, workers, consumers, and planet.
Tune into this virtual webinar to learn from industry leaders about the progress Michigan has made with EV manufacturing, clean-fuel vehicles, EV infrastructure, and how political and industry leaders can move forward.
