MI Clean Future

We are calling on the Michigan legislature to make a one time, transformational investment of $600 million in clean mobility.

Now is the time for smart and bold investments in clean transportation to benefit all Michiganders. That’s why 27 organizations teamed up to call on the Michigan legislature to invest in clean transportation solutions that protect public health, safeguard Michigan jobs, and win the clean transportation industry, we need smart investments in three core categories:

Clean Vehicles: Including school and transit buses, public fleets, and passenger cars.

21st-Century Infrastructure: Smartly positioned electric vehicle charging stations and alternative fuel refueling sites.

Workforce Development and Innovation: Programs and grants to retain our mobility jobs and leadership in innovative solutions.

There are billions of dollars available from the American Rescue Plan Act in addition to excess general funds. We request a relatively small portion of available funds to set Michigan on a path to win the clean mobility industry.

Health

Clean vehicles improve air quality and improve public health outcomes.

Jobs

More than 20% of Michiganders are employed in mobility. We are requesting less than 5% of available funding to ensure those jobs are not only safe, but continue to grow.

Economy

The signs are clear: the auto industry is changing, and investments in clean vehicles pay dividends.

To demonstrate these benefits, we teamed up with Rhombus Energy Solutions and the Electrification Coalition to host a press conference at the Rhombus’ Dearborn, Michigan manufacturing facility. Watch the video below to hear from leaders about the benefits of clean transportation and how American-made electric vehicle parts can power up the economy.

When we invest in clean mobility, everyone wins.
