Description:  Eligible entities can get up to $7500 back for a light-duty EV and up to $40,000 back for a medium-heavy-duty vehicle. The rebate amount will vary depending on Gross Vehicle Weight. To claim your tax credit, complete the pre-filing with the IRS to obtain a designated registration number for your project. File the corresponding tax forms and receive your refund after it is accepted. Filing deadlines are based on your organization’s fiscal year, with the opportunity to file an extension.

Eligible Projects:  Credit based on Gross Vehicle weight (GVW). Less than 14,000 pounds may receive a maximum of $7500. 14,000 or more may receive a maximum credit of $40,000. 30% of basis for a vehicle not powered by a gasoline or diesel ICE engine, such as an EV or fuel cell vehicle (FCEV). 15% of basis for a vehicle powered by a gasoline or diesel ICE engine, such as a plug-in-hybrid EV.
